Help & support
How can we help?
Answers for photo buyers, contributors and clients — and a direct line to the John Tripod team when you need one.
Finding & using photos
How do I find photographs?
How do I buy or download a photo?
Sign in, open the photo and choose Download image (free photos) or Get licence (paid photos). Licences are paid securely through Paystack; afterwards your licence number and the full-resolution file are in My Purchases, where you can download it again any time.
What’s the difference between free, editorial and commercial?
Free photographs can be used for personal and editorial work with photographer credit. Editorial licences cover news and storytelling. Commercial licences cover advertising and promotion. Each photo’s page shows its licence.
How do favourites work?
Sign in and tap the heart on any photo. Your favourites are private to you and live under Account → Favourites.
Contributing
How do I become a contributor?
Apply with a link to your portfolio, a short bio and a few sample photos. The John Tripod team reviews every application; you’ll see its status in your studio.
What happens after I upload?
Uploads are checked for size and duplicates, you add a title, location and tags, then submit. Each photo is reviewed before it’s published. If changes are needed, the reviewer’s note appears on the photo in your studio.
How do I get paid?
Add your bank details under payout details. Earnings from each sale are held for a clearing period (to cover refunds), then paid to your bank in the next payout run. Track everything in My Earnings.
Can I deliver work to my own clients?
Yes. Approved contributors can send private deliveries under Account → Client Portal, keep a list of their clients under Clients, choose how each client gets in, and see what they pick.
Client delivery
How do I open my delivery?
Use the link John Tripod sent you. Depending on how it was set up, you may be asked for your name and email, a password, or the email address the delivery was sent to. No account is needed.
Where do I find work you delivered before?
Open any delivery link and scroll to Your other deliveries. It lists everything still live for your company or event, newest first. Each one opens with its own link, so a password-protected delivery still asks for its password.
How do I choose my favourites?
Tap + on any photo, or open it to pick or reject it and leave a note. John Tripod sees your picks as you make them. Your picks are yours alone — others viewing the same link don’t see them.
My download is too large.
A single ZIP is limited in size. Select fewer photos and download them in batches, or download photos one at a time from each photo.
My link says it has expired or is no longer active.
Links can expire, be revoked, or reach a download limit. Contact John Tripod for a new link.
Your account
I forgot my password.
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page and we’ll email you a reset link. It works once and lasts an hour. If you’re still signed in somewhere, you can also change it under Account → Security.
How do I sign out of other devices?
Account → Security lists every device signed in to your account. Sign out any you don’t recognise. Changing your password signs out every other device too.
Report a photo
Think a photograph on John Tripod uses your work without permission, shows you without consent, or shouldn’t be here? Tell us. You don’t need an account.
Every report is reviewed by the John Tripod team. If it’s upheld, the photo is taken down.
